Student Absence

All absences require written explanation from a parent or guardian.

If a student is absent from school:

• for one day, a parent or guardian is asked to call Student Services on the morning of the absence;

• For two or more days, it is the responsibility of a parent or guardian to notify the school of the reason and to supply a note upon the student’s return to school.

VCE/VCAL/VET students who are absent from school are required to supply a medical certificate.

If a student's absence is known in advance, a parent or guardian is expected to inform the College.

A text message will be sent from Student Services to a parent or guardian if notification of a student’s absence has not been received.

In cases when a student is representing the school, or at an organised activity, the student will be marked as present.

Notice of Extended Leave - Holiday and Travel

When families go on holidays, or other times of extended leave, we request that parents please complete a 'Notice of Extended Leave' form and hand in to Student Services or email to office@kolbecc.catholic.edu.au
