As the 2024 school year comes to a close, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on a successful and dynamic Semester 2.
This term has been marked by significant milestones, including a well-attended examination period for our senior students, showcasing their focus and determination. The return of the Year 11 Pre-Start Program since before COVID, was another highlight, offering these students an invaluable opportunity to prepare for the transition to senior studies. Our senior students also embraced their Pre-Start Program with enthusiasm, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.
The past week has been a hive of activity for our younger year levels, who have participated in a range of enrichment experiences:
Year 8 Reflection Day, providing time for personal growth and community building.
A trip to Funfields, where students created joyful memories.
Year 9 Future Pathways Days, helping students explore and plan for their futures.
A fun-filled last day featuring activities for everyone, from a silent disco and Christmas decorating to tournaments catering to every type of competitor.
A very successful Year 7 Orientation Day, welcoming our 2025 cohort and their families into the Kolbe community.
As we finish the year, I want to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to the Kolbe community—staff, parents, and families—for your acceptance and support during my time as Acting Deputy Principal of Students. It has been a privilege to step into this role for the past 5 months, and have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside our dedicated staff and incredible students and look forward to returning to my role as Director of Senior Students in 2025, continuing to support our VCE cohort.
Wishing everyone a joyful and restful holiday season. Thank you for making 2024 such a memorable and successful year!
