We acknowledge that students and families have been unwell during this Winter season but wish to remind families of the College’s expectations around missed school-based assessments. To be eligible to receive a reportable VCAA score for Unit 4 subjects or a grade for Unit 2 subjects a medical certificate must be provided. This process has been established in line with VCAA guidelines to ensure the College is maintaining fairness and equity for our students.

If your child will be absent for an assessment task your child must;

  • make contact with their subject teacher/s via SEQTA dm or email

  • bring a medical certificate upon their return to the school

  • complete a blue reschedule form which requires signatures from the student, parent, and subject teacher.

Your child’s teacher will automatically book your child into the next available Friday or Tuesday Afterschool Assessment Catch-Up Session. Upon your child’s return to school, we are now only offering one opportunity for the task to be rescheduled for your child to be able to receive a grade.

It is important to note that good study habitats do not occur overnight, they take time to develop. The College encourages our year 11 students, if not already in a routine, to ensure they complete 3-4 hours per night of daily homework and weekly revision.

In preparation for our final sprint to the finish line for our scored Units 3 & 4 students, the College will be holding Practice Examinations from Friday 20 September 2024 until Wednesday 25 September. All examinations will be conducted in accordance with VCAA regulations and supervised by external assessors to simulate the real examination experience. Mrs Todorovic or Mr Gonzalez will be present on each day of the program to assist if needed.

Students will be required to provide their own transport to and from the College throughout this period and will need to provide their own recess/lunch should they have more than one examination scheduled on a particular day.

Students are also able to wear casual attire throughout the program.

The trial examination timetable will be sent shortly to families and students via SEQTA and Operoo.

One final message to our Year 12 students, use these last final weeks of secondary school classes to have no regrets. Find the right balance of study, work, and life to ensure you don't burn the candle at both ends.

Your teachers and families believe in your abilities and want you to succeed personally.

Strive for excellence and don't stop asking questions.
