Kolbe Catholic College’s Building J air is filled with a mixture of emotions, as our Year 12 students enjoy the remainder of their secondary school learning journey.

With the final countdown visible to all in the Year 12 common room, whether it be for our scored students who are nervously preparing for their end-of-year VCAA examinations or non-scored or VM/VPC students excitedly awaiting no more homework and study and eagerly awaiting to enter the workforce, the students can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This is a friendly reminder to all Year 12 scored students that Practice Exams will continue into the school holidays as per early communications. Please arrive at school at least 20 minutes before your practice exam. These exams offer a unique opportunity to practice the exam experience but also highlight key areas of review or target revision prior to your end-of-year examination.

Families and students are encouraged to review the VCE Exams Navigator 2024 guide to ensure you know what the correct materials are permitted for each of your exams.

Have you created a study plan yet?

The College encourages students to review their personal VCAA Exam timetable (provided in our assembly on Tuesday 10 November) and create a study timetable or plan.

You should focus on the upcoming exam while also reviewing material from other examinations to avoid revision fatigue and procrastination.

Be active in your revision, re-reading or writing study notes should be avoided, remember practice makes perfect, and make sure to utilise your teacher's expertise and knowledge.

Remember that although Year 12 timetabled classes finish on Friday 18 October 2024 your teachers will be available during your normal timetabled class time up until your exam.

This year Kolbe Catholic College will be running Pre Start Program for both our Year 11 2025 and Year 12 2025 students. This compulsory program is offered to provide students with feedback on their Unit 2 or Year 10 examinations, develop an awareness and basic understanding of VCE including learning outcomes, assessment types and to begin learning content for Units 1 & 3.

Please keep your eye out for more information regarding Year 11 Exams and Pre Start Program via Operoo early next term.
