Term 1 Reflection

As Term 1 draws to a close, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on and share the many opportunities our students and staff have had to engage in, all contributing to our positive and vibrant school culture.

This term, we’ve had:

  • Over 50 excursions across Sports, Visual Arts, Student Leadership, Faith, Performing Arts, Sciences, Physical Education, and more.
  • More than 32 incursions focusing on English, Student Wellbeing, Peer Support, Mental Health, STEM/Science Academy, Sound Team training, and more.
  • 9 community engagement activities, including the Year 7 Parent Welcome Night, Kids in the Kitchen sessions, School Tours, Parent-Teacher Interviews, and the Aged Care Choir Tour.
  • 7 Masses and Assemblies, including formal and informal assemblies, Ash Wednesday & the Opening School Mass, several House Masses, and the annual St Patrick’s Cathedral Catholic Education Week Mass.
  • 2 Outdoor Education camps.
  • And 1 official new building blessing and opening!

Emergency Management Briefing and Drills

In Term 1, all Year 7 classes participated in an Emergency Management briefing, where they were introduced to our response procedures. During this session, students had the opportunity to practice an evacuation drill in a small group setting, ensuring a safe and calm experience. Our Year 7 students asked insightful questions and executed the drill flawlessly. Well done to everyone involved for the success of this new initiative!

Looking ahead to Term 2, all staff and students will take part in another drill as a whole school. This drill is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community. Please note that this is a routine practice, and there is no cause for concern. Our aim is for these safety drills to help everyone feel informed, prepared, and comfortable.

College Photo Day – Tuesday, 20 May

All students will have their individual school photo taken on Tuesday, 20 May. Further details, including uniform requirements and how to order photos, will be sent to parents in early Term 2. Please keep an eye on your inbox for this information.

School Drop-Off & Pick-Up: Safety First

Ensuring the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please follow these guidelines during drop-off and pick-up times:

  • Drive safely – Maintain a speed of 10km/h or less on school grounds, including around the oval.
  • Park responsibly – Use only designated parking spaces.
  • Follow procedures – Utilize the designated drop-off and pick-up zones for a smooth and safe flow of traffic.

Your cooperation helps create a safer environment for everyone. Thank you for driving with care!
