Seeing out Term 2 with Cultural Week at Kolbe Catholic College

Our staff and student leaders collaborated to provide opportunities for the school community to celebrate our cultural diversity.

Each morning, during Pastoral Care, students prayed the Our Father in different languages over the PA system. They also enjoyed creating paper links, practicing greetings in other languages, and learning about different cultures and traditions from classmates.

During recess and lunchtimes, there was music, drumming, and dancing led by the students, along with origami, colouring, and puzzles in the library. Our Year 7 & 8 students also experienced the "Ciao Italy" performance on Tuesday as part of their Italian studies.

Our showcase on Thursday featured students sharing a variety of cultural experiences. Seeing students and staff proudly wearing their cultural dress or colours was a highlight. The carnival atmosphere was enhanced by a student cultural dress parade, traditional dance performances, food trucks, face painting, sidewalk chalk-art, mask-making, board games, sports competitions, and more.

Thank you to all the staff and students who led and participated in the activities. It was fantastic to see the community celebrating together.
