Kolbe Feast Day 2024: A Day to Remember!

This year’s Kolbe Feast Day was blessed with a stunning winter’s day as we came together to honour our college in the true spirit of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Our core values of Faith, Courage, and Compassion shone brightly throughout the festivities.

The day began with the entire community gathering in the Stadium for a heartfelt Mass. Led by Fr. Dishan, who we were thrilled to welcome back, the Mass embodied our value of Faith. With student readers and staff as special ministers, the service was a powerful moment of prayer and reflection. And let’s not forget our fabulous choir, who not only sounded fantastic but looked the part in their brand-new gowns, adding that extra special touch to the ceremony.

In a powerful display of Compassion, our school took a stand against Domestic Violence with a Walk that resonated deeply with everyone involved. Leading up to the event, students and staff engaged in thoughtful discussions about domestic violence, building a solid foundation of knowledge and a shared commitment to say, “Not Now, Not Ever” to such violence.

We were honored to be joined by special guests from MACS, our feeder primary schools, and the local community, all standing with us in support of this crucial cause. MACS produced an inspiring video featuring our students and staff as they stood up to “shine a light on voices unheard.” Don’t miss it—check out the video here: Watch on Facebook.

And speaking of videos, the entire Walk was captured by the talented Mr. Liam Benton and his team, in a film that you can watch here: Watch on YouTube.

The competitive spirit was alive and well during the House Activities, where students and staff gave it their all in pursuit of glory. Chisholm House emerged victorious this year, taking home the coveted House Cup. Congratulations to all the Chisholm House staff and students, your dedication and teamwork was exceptional.

Kolbe’s Got Talent was back and better than ever, with students showing immense Courage as they took to the stage. This year saw a record number of performances, each one showcasing the incredible talent within our school. Bravo to all the performers—you dazzled us, and we can’t wait to see more at the Showcase later this year!

A big thank you to all the staff who made Feast Day 2024 such a success. Your efforts, both in front of and behind the scenes, were truly invaluable. Special thanks to Mr. Dellar, Ms. Herrera, Mr Benton supported by Mr Gonzales, Ms Mizzi with Mr. Ghio and the Year Level Leaders and Directors of Students, Ms. Roso and the Performing Arts staff, the Property Team, and our AV wizard Mr. Max Langlands. Kolbe Catholic College is beyond fortunate to have such dedicated and passionate people working together.
