Reflecting on a Remarkable Year in Performing Arts at Kolbe
2023 has proven to be a captivating and thrilling chapter for the Performing Arts at Kolbe. Witnessing our students' transformative journey as they explored creativity and imagination through various activities has been truly inspiring. There have been many notable highlights, including Koble’s Got Talent, the Showcase, the instrumental program, choir, weekly karaoke and the Dance Club.
Recently, the Kolbe Choir embraced two exciting opportunities.
Firstly, a visit to The Backlot Studio in South Melbourne allowed them to
record the school song, "Faith, Courage, and Compassion," written by
staff member Tracey Kift. This behind-the-scenes experience provided valuable
insights into the creative process of music production.
Following this, the Choir embarked on a tour, delivering admirable performances at two aged-care facilities. The audiences at Levande Highlands and Arcare in Craigieburn applauded the students for an incredible concert featuring songs sung throughout the year. The success of this tour has inspired us to consider making it an annual event.
As we approach the year's conclusion, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the numerous students, staff, and families who have supported the Performing Arts.
This year has been filled with remarkable moments, and I extend a special thanks to Tracey Kift, whose departure will leave a void. Tracey's contribution to the Performing Arts team, particularly in the establishment of the choir, has been invaluable. We thank her for the gift of music she shared and the lasting impact she leaves with us.
The Performing Arts staff eagerly anticipates welcoming all
students back in February. We envision another memorable year for everyone who
appreciates the Arts and the stage. Thank you for being a part of our wonderful
journey in 2023.
