Our students have continued to shine in the Performing Arts throughout Term 1.

Kolbe Bands

We are thrilled to announce the formation of two bands!

  • The Senior Band has been playing together for the past three years.
  • This year, we have also formed a Junior Band, made up of enthusiastic Year 7 – 9 students.

Both groups rehearse during lunchtimes under the guidance of music tutor Mr Cox and Music Coordinator Mr Gomez.

Choir

The Choir has been invited to perform at several events this year. Most recently, they had the honour of performing at the opening of the STEM building, which was a truly remarkable and memorable occasion.

On 31 March, the choir went on tour to entertain residents at an aged care home and a retirement village, performing short concerts at Arcare and Levande Highlands Community in Craigieburn.

A huge thank you to Ravinder and Phillipa for booking Kolbe Choir for these venues and warmly welcoming our students, allowing them to create lasting memories.

The Choir is welcoming new members in Term 2! Students are asked to commit for the full term to allow time to develop harmonies, solos, and prepare for events. Students wanting to join the choir are to direct message Miss Roso.

Instrument Donation

We are excited to share that the Performing Arts Department received a generous donation of a brand-new electric guitar and amplifier.

Our heartfelt thanks to Roger Spiteri for selecting Kolbe as the recipient of this wonderful donation. The guitar will be well-used by students during rehearsals and lunchtime sessions.

Celebrating Our Students

Performing Arts at Kolbe helps students grow in confidence, creativity, and teamwork. We are proud of the many opportunities available to help our students thrive in the arts.

We also celebrate those students who are taking their passion for Performing Arts beyond school:

  • Claudia Dugo (Year 10, 2024) gained a place at the Victorian College of the Arts to complete her senior years. This highly competitive course is a fantastic achievement, and we wish Claudia all the best as she embarks on this exciting journey.
  • Allison Paculba (Year 12, 2024 – Vice College Captain) has begun full-time Performing Arts training at the JC Ministry of Dance. This audition-based program is well-regarded and demands excellence in dance, drama, and music. Congratulations, Allison!
  • Addison Castle (Year 12) has a passion for acting. She has recently enrolled in an after-school program at the Australian Film and Television Academy where she is participating in an Acting boot camp. We wish her every success as she pursues her dream.
  • Biannca Greer (Year 12) is deeply involved in Performing Arts both in and outside of Kolbe. She’s a familiar face in our Performing Arts Clubs and has taken part in Kolbe’s Got Talent, the Showcase, and various school events. Outside school, Biannca maintains a busy dance schedule across multiple styles. She aspires to a future career in Performing Arts and teaching. We wish her every success in her final year.

It’s truly inspiring to see both past and present students excelling in Performing Arts. Their dedication and talent reflect the vibrant creative spirit we cultivate at Kolbe.
