Term 2 Visual Arts at Kolbe

Shared Stories Anthology

Visual Arts at Kolbe has just launched the “Shared Stories Anthology” Artwork competition due on the 21 June. Artworks must align with the theme of “Courage” and is an exciting opportunity for Kolbe to showcase our artistry and creativity. Artworks selected will be published alongside creative writing pieces in the 2025 issue of the Anthology. All students are encouraged to submit artworks, one student will be chosen from Junior 7-9 and Senior 10-12 categories to be awarded an art prize.

Year 12 Top Arts, Top Screens and Top Design

Visual Arts, Media and Visual Communication Design students went on an excursion to Top Arts at the National Gallery of Victoria, Top Screens at ACMI and Top Designs at Melbourne Museum. The exhibitions are part of the VCE Season of Excellence, a five-month annual festival that celebrates exceptional senior secondary student work from Victorian schools. The excursions provide a pivotal understanding of the arts studies and an overview of different aspects of Unit 3 and 4 coursework. By witnessing firsthand, the work of the previous year, students gain valuable insights into a range of techniques, conceptual development, and presentation methods. These experiences not only inspire creativity but also strengthen students' appreciation for the arts and their own artistic and creative potential.

Art Club

Art Club is back for 2024 and running every Tuesday at lunch. It is a space for students to explore their creativity with access to drawing, painting, and printmaking mediums. Art Club is a space for young artists to simply enjoy the process of making art along with the opportunity to delve into their own interests and artistic abilities; experiment with art materials or develop their technical skills.
