Wellbeing Messages

As we are nearing the end of a long and busy term, this is a reminder to staff and students to get some much needed rest over the holidays and look for ways to ‘refill your cup’. Self-care activities can help increase feelings of happiness and help to maintain health and wellbeing. Self-care is very individualised so we encourage parents to speak to their young people about what it looks like for them. It could range anywhere from doing an activity that makes you feel good or doing the basics, like eating and sleeping well, when you're struggling.

Self-care is also an important part of parenting. It helps parents to be more engaged and effective and can model positive coping skills to their young people. Go to Kids Helpline or ReachOut if you would like to learn more about self-care.

The wellbeing team wishes everyone a safe and restful holiday break!

Parental Controls (e-safety Commissioner)

Parental controls are ways you can block, filter, limit or monitor your child’s technology use and online access. They can help keep young people safer online by preventing access to harmful content, managing usage time and who your child communicates with. To be most effective, parental controls need to be set up on all devices your child accesses. They should be revisited and maintained regularly. Parental controls are most effective when used alongside supervision and other online safety strategies. Links to parental control guides for computers, smartphones, gaming consoles, social media and streaming services can be found here.
