Students have been busy making paper rockets, launchers (constructed from PVC pipe and recycled soft drink bottles) and paper altitude meters for their most recent project. This week they finished their construction and ran some initial testing and will take their data and calculate the approximate altitude reached by their rocket.
Some of the best groups from the Yr 9 LEAD class came to Science Club this week with their launchers. During the lunchtime session, a mix of Yr 8, 9 and 12 students made their own paper rockets and launched them with the help of the Yr 9 LEAD volunteers. The mission was a great success with the rockets reaching about two stories in height.
Next week in Science Club, students will be refining their designs to reach even greater heights!
