Pastoral care underpins everything we do at Kolbe and finds itself placed not only within our classrooms but also within our vertical House System. Kolbe’s pastoral care program and House system is about building relationships and working with students so they have the fullest opportunity for personal, academic, social and spiritual growth.
On enrolment at the College, students are allocated to a particular House. Siblings are allocated to the same House. There are currently 42 Pastoral Care classes, 7 per House, with each class assigned a Learning Advisor also know as the pastoral care teacher.
The Learning Advisor in theory and wherever possible, stays with the same group of students for as many years as possible. In this way, the students are well known by one particular teacher, who is the first point of call for all interaction with parents.
